Nature's Karma at Clay Terrace, locally owned retailer focuses on fair trade and recycled items

November 4, 2010 – Nature’s Karma opened at Clay Terrace on October 1, 2010. Dedicated to providing unique, useful and “environmentally gentle” merchandise, Nature’s Karma will carry products including recycled seatbelt purses, recycled chopstick products, recycled video tape and keyboard bags and wallets, soy candles, adult and children’s clothing and skincare products and fragrances.

In addition to an exclusive line of organic skin care products developed by Nature’s Karma, the store will also carry the popular, local Ambre Essence line of fragrances.

Owner Melissa Evans intends to pay tribute to the Earth with her new store. “We get so many wonderful products from the Earth; it is only right that we do whatever we can to give back,” said Evans. To that end, Nature’s Karma will donate proceeds from the sale of their reusable shopping bags to the Carmel Green Initiative, a coalition of citizens and community groups that promote and support the City of Carmel’s commitment to reducing its impact on the environment.

Another important area of focus for the store is Fair Trade products. Fair Trade is a social movement and market-based approach that aims to help producers in developing countries obtain better trading conditions and promote sustainability. Nature’s Karma imports its Fair Trade products from a variety of countries.

“We know our shoppers will respond positively to Nature’s Karma,” said Catherine Fisher, directory of mall marketing and business development for Clay Terrace. “They are increasingly concerned about being environmentally conscious, and supporting causes they care about. Nature’s Karma will be a great place to buy unique items for yourself or to give during the upcoming holiday season.”

Nature’s Karma will be located in Clay Terrace next to Pac Sun.
