Here's what the finalists said about their artwork....

.

2017__1_Anjali

First grade district finalist, Anjali D. from Woodbrook Elem. said "Bees need our help. Earth is our home. It gives us food, water and a place to play. If we don’t protect our home we will not have these in the future."

.

2017__3_Alexis

Third grade district finalist, Alexis H. from West Clay Elem. GS Troop 2019 said "When people see my artwork, I want them to notice turning off the lights when you leave the room helps save lots of energy and helps the environment."

.

2017__4_Ali

Fourth grade district finalist, Ali M. from West Clay Elem. GS Troop 1014 said "The name of my artwork is Respect Earth and was inspired by nature’s beauty. When people see my artwork, I want them to notice the three “R’s” and how important they are. We only have one Earth, so we need to be respectful and thoughtful of our planet for future generations."

.

2017__5_Aubrey

Fifth grade district finalist, Aubrey M. from Mohawk Trails Elem. said "The name of my artwork is Beautiful Blue. My artwork is inspired by my amazing art teacher, Mr.B. and my family who have been encouraging me to draw and be creative every single day. When people see my artwork I want them to take action in helping our wonderful earth. Protecting our energy and our planet is important because our future generations should have the same privileges as we had."

.

2017__12_Rachel

12th grade district finalist, Rachel Hidding from CHS said. "The title of my piece is Bees Make a Happier World. I learned that bees are necessary to our environment as they pollinate our plants that are our food source. Without them we wouldn’t be able to eat. It's important that we recognize bees for what they really do for us. This is important to me because of our declining bee population today. I hope that in the future we still have our great pollinators to provide the world food."

THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR YOUR INSPIRING ART!!!
