How Carmel Schools are Celebrating America Recycles Week

See what our schools are doing to celebrate America Recycles Week!

Carmel Elementary:

Posting banner and posters, reading recycling tips on announcements during week of Nov. 16-20, bulletin board about recycling, displaying art projects made from recycled materials, Recycling Drop-Off Event Nov. 14th (paper, batteries and cell phones) from 10am-1pm.

Cherry Tree Elementary:

Posting banner and posters, reading recycling tips on announcements during week of Nov. 16-20, bulletin board about recycling, student-created educational display about plastic bags, collecting reusable items for art projects, Green Club meets once a month to learn and do projects.

College Wood Elementary:

Posting banner and posters, reading recycling tips on announcements during week of Nov. 16-20, weeklong paper drive, begin recycling Capri Sun pouches,

Reduce, Reuse and Recycle Days (Reduce: no-waste lunch day; Reuse: bring butter and yogurt tubs for art projects; Recycle: bring in hard plastic caps to be recycled at Aveda), show recycling videos at lunch.

Forest Dale Elementary:

Posting banner and posters, reading recycling tips on announcements during week of Nov. 16-20, principal will share America Recycles Day activity packet with teachers to be used in classrooms, either recycle Capri Sun pouches or water bottles at pizza party next week.

Mohawk Trails Elementary:

Posting banner and posters, reading recycling tips on announcements during week of Nov. 16-20, bulletin board about recycling.

Orchard Park Elementary:

Posting banner and posters, reading recycling tips on announcements during week of Nov. 16-20, ARD packet submitted to principal for teacher use in classrooms, handing out ARD pencils, recycled plastic and cans at Family Fun Night last week.

Prairie Trace Elementary:

Posting banner and posters.

Smoky Row Elementary:

America Recycles Day packet sent to principal.

Towne Meadow Elementary:

America Recycles Day packet sent to principal and suggested book display list sent to librarian, posting banner and posters, reading recycling tips on announcements during week of Nov. 16-20.

West Clay Elementary:

Posting banner and posters, America Recycles Day activities packet sent to Green Team (student recycle club led by 3 teachers), showing one or some of the recycling-related videos during lunch, distributing pencils and tattoos.

Woodbrook Elementary:

Posting banner and posters, 5th graders reading recycling tips on announcements during week of Nov. 16-20, paper drive, recycling bulletin board, 3rd grade art project using recycled items, showing Abitibi DVD, 5th graders kicking off plastic bottle and aluminum can recycling.

Carmel Middle School:

Posting banner and posters, reading recycling tips on announcements during week of Nov. 16-20, Leaf and Pumpkin Recycling event November 7th, showing recycling DVD, Student Green Club meets regularly to do earth-related projects, recycling power point being shown in the cafeteria at lunch, media centre display of recycling related materials.

Clay Middle School:

Creekside Middle School:
