Sustainability efforts by the city of Carmel have been driven by 7-term mayor Jim Brainard and the city has received several green awards and recognitions.  In Hamilton County, several schools have installed solar panels that generate most of their electricity.  By doing so, they have created a learning laboratory for their students about the benefits of transitioning to clean renewable energy.

But there is more work to do.  We need to engage elected officials in both the city and county to develop green policies.
