Join us to learn more about data centers in Indiana.
– How will data centers impact electric bills and climate pollution?
– How are data centers being subsidized?
– How do data centers affect water consumption?

Across Indiana in places such as Indianapolis-area townships, Shelbyville, and New Carlisle, opposition has come from residents concerned about…

  1. Higher electric bills
  2. Heavy water consumption
  3. Few permanent jobs relative to their large footprint
  4. Tax incentives for large corporations
  5. Loss of farmland and rural character
  6. Lack of transparency in project approvals

We’re excited to host Citizens Action Coalition, a non-profit consumer and environmental organization. CAC advocates for affordable utility bills, a cleaner environment, and a stronger democracy in Indiana. They have helped save billions in excess utility charges since its inception in 1974.

Guest Speaker: Ben Inskeep, CAC Program Director, works to hold Indiana utilities and other large polluters accountable to protect ratepayers from the growing affordability crisis. Ben has extensively researched and analyzed AI data center proposals in Indiana and testified in related cases before the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC). Ben earned a Master of Public Affairs and a Master of Science in Environmental Science degrees at the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University.

Data center developers need to prove the benefits outweigh the costs for local communities, and that energy costs are not shifted to ratepayers.
