Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation

New in 2025-26

  • Partnering with other entities, built Bur Oak Bridge, a 500-foot pedestrian and bicycle bridge connecting Carmel’s Hazel Dell Landing and Fishers’ Heritage Park.
  • Opened Monon Station, a new indoor playground, at the Monon Community Center.
  • Acquired the historical Moffitt House adjacent to River Heritage Park preventing redevelopment of the area and allowing for future restoration as needed.

2025 Sustainable Highlights

  • Over 1000 Citizen Service hours including programs on invasive & native plant monitoring.
  • Offered more than 140 nature programs to the community.
  • Planted 273 trees/shrubs with 100 more trees planted in April 2026.
  • Collected, cleaned, stored, and redistributed thousands of native wildflower seeds to overseed native habitat throughout the park system.
