WASTED: Reduce Your Food Waste
Thursday, Sept. 19, 2024
6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Carmel Clay Public Library
Did you know a third of all food grown in the US—about 78 million tons—is wasted? It ends up in landfills, incinerators, or rotting in fields, contributing to hunger and climate change. Food waste causes over half of landfill methane emissions in the US.
Madeline and Paul Schiffman, leaders of Sustain E3 at Eight Eleven Group, will discuss food waste and how you can help. Linda Downer, a Carmel Green Initiative board member and master composter, will show how easy it is to compost at home. Heather Lawson, owner of Earth Mama, will talk about compost collection services. Join us to learn simple ways to reduce food waste!

When: Thursday, September 19, 2024 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Who: Sponsored by Carmel Green Initiative.
The public is invited and encouraged to attend this free program.
Where: Carmel Clay Public Library, 425 East Main Street, Carmel 46032
